Asset Languages Sample Materials
Additional materials in target languages will be released as they become available.
If you wish to use the Reading and Listening tests to practise with your learners, a blank OMR candidate answer sheet can be downloaded below. (Note that the structure of the Primary context test is the same but candidates are not required to use the candidate answer sheet.)
These French, German and Spanish sample papers have been produced to show you what the Asset Languages external assessment looks like and to provide practice tests for your learners. The listening samples contain a CD script – for live tests, a CD is provided to play to candidates. For the new sample material in a broader range of languages, see below.
Please note, as of May 2010, the format of one of the tasks (Part 6) on the Preliminary Reading tests for French, German and Spanish has changed. Samples of the new format which came into action from May onwards for French, German and Spanish only, are provided here:
There are new sample Listening and Reading tasks at Breakthrough, Preliminary and Intermediate Stage for a much broader range of languages in development. These aim to provide a better introduction to the style of Asset's external assessment. As soon as samples in another language are available, they will be added to the table below.
Asset Languages for the World of Work Sample tests can be found here.
The following MP3 files can be used with the Listening samples provided above. The files have been split by Part. Please note that the files are large and may take some time to download.
Resource materials to help you prepare for Speaking tests have been gathered together on one page here.
